Come and ride! With incredibly scenic rides, dedicated cycling lanes, cycling paths and trails, generally courteous drivers and a terrific supply of rentals with reasonaby priced, excellent equipment. Tour along Dallas Road, the scenic coastal drive to Oak Bay, ride out west towards Sooke along the Galloping Goose Trail or head towards, Butchart Gardens and on to Sidney along the Lochside and Interurban trails.

May 2011 will see the first of a planned annual 'Tour de Victoria'. Ryder Hesjedal is inviting people to Victoria B.C. on the last weekend of May to ride on roads he used to train for the Tour de France. Ryder, a 30 year old local cyclist, is ranked number 8 professional cyclist in the world after becoming a celebrated international hero during the 2010 Tour de France where he ended up placing 7th overall. Ryder's vision of the Tour de Victoria is a mass participation cycling event, catering to all ages and fitness levels. Three distances, a short community ride, 90km and 140km, will offer challenges for beginners, families and enthusiastic cyclists alike.This will be a world class cycling experience and similar to what a professional cyclist experiences: a beautiful and safe route, effective mechanical support, feedzones, and a celebratory meal after the ride.The route itself will start and finish in downtown Victoria and incorporate many of the amazing cycling routes Victoria offers. Ocean vistas, challenging climbs, scenic pastoral and narrow, winding mountain roads. These are some of the many reasons Victoria has become known as the "Cycling Capital of Canada".The Festival will be a month long celebration of cycling, supporting several charities with the ride, including the Power to Be Adventure Therapy.For 2011, registration will be limited to 1500 people.
